Hi..I have a technical question. I like your Book Index. How did you do this??
ReplyDeleteYour blog is excellent and so well written. I visit frequently..
Joyce at www.jssherr.blogspot.com
Hey Joyce,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good word. I love your blog too!
I think that you will laugh when I tell you about my book index. Blogger allows the user to set up a separate page which I did. Whenever I add a book I just hit the Edit symbol and throw it in where it fits in alphabetical order. This is very inelegant and if you look closely i have not gotten the fonts and sizes exactly correct. I searched for an application or plug in to do this but I could not find anything that works well.
Should you find a better solution please do let me know.
All the best.
Hi Brian,
ReplyDeleteOccasionally I lurk around on other blogs (linking from Tracy's, in this case) and was interested to see the books listed here. I read both Middlemarch and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress this year and couldn't resist commenting to say I enjoyed reading your take on both.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the good word Kelly.
ReplyDeleteBoth of those are such great books in very different ways!
Can I just say that I prefer indexes like this to be alphabetical by author. Then I can see your Trollopes, together, for example. I think it's the librarian in me.
ReplyDeleteHi Whispering Gums - I would like to do an index both ways. I will do so if I can find a better way to index. I have not been able to utilize either blogger features or find a widget to make indexing easier or cleaner.
